OBSIDIAN GIVES BACK

“The greatest gift one can give oneself is the gift of giving.”

Drew Conway, Obsidian Global’s CEO & President.

Mr. Conway has always had a desire to pay it forward.  As he built a successful company, that desire only intensified. He has created a corporate culture that instills giving, graciousness, integrity, mutual respect, and a responsibility to those less fortunate by donating to many local communities that include:

Catholic Charities

  • Catholic Charities is the largest community outreach program Obsidian participates in yearly.  Obsidian is paired with Sanctuaries for Life and the Snack Sak program each year. This program provides the Obsidian staff with a full list of needed items as well as the ages and genders of the more than 200 children involved in the programs.

  • Obsidian has a unique office holiday tradition. The team heads to TJ Maxx armed with the wish lists and a generous budget, the corporate team is divided into groups to find as many of the wish list items requested by local families.  The program benefits Catholic Charities and specifically supports women and children in need.  In addition to the “wish list” items (toys, clothes, jackets, sporting goods, etc.) the team also orders an abundance of diapers, wipes, hats, gloves, socks, and necessity kits that support displaced new and expectant mothers.

  • “Obsidian gave me the ability to give to others in a way I wouldn’t be able to without this event,” said Mark K. “This shopping trip was the first and only thing my colleagues had talked about. It moved me to be part of something so much bigger than myself. It’s a highlight of the year for the team.”

Boys & Girls Club

  • Obsidian donated over 25 desktop computers, monitors, keyboards, and mice for their summer programs.

Local Underprivileged DC Schools

  • Obsidian donated paper goods, construction paper, supplies, printers, projection machines, and monitors to a local school in need.

Charitable Donations

  • Obsidian makes considerable monetary donations to the Wounded Warrior Project & Make a Wish Foundation.
