What is your role at Obsidian? How long have you been here?
I am currently working on the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) contract as a Lead Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) since the new contract began in October 2023. I have been with Obsidian for 3 years. I hired in as an Information Assurance Lead with Obsidian on the Purchase Request Processing System (PRPS) in November 2020.
What has been one of your proudest moments while working with Obsidian?
I am so proud of my fellow EPA ISSO team members every time we achieve an Approval To Operate (ATO) for the many EPA Information Systems. It is a very complex and challenging job and we are contributing to success for Obsidian and the EPA.
What is the last book you read? Would you recommend it?
I just finished Cannery Row by John Steinback, an excellent and funny book about daily life in the Cannery Row part of Monterey, CA back in the 1940’s. I highly recommend it for the great character development and historical imagery.
What ranks number one on your bucket list?
I would love to go on a cruise to see more of Italy and France. I have been on a few cruises with Celebrity Cruises and would love to travel more. Travel opens your mind to new places and ideas, and you get to know people from different cultures.
If you had to eat one meal every day for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Since I was raised in Ohio, I’m a meat and potatoes guy, so I would be happy to have one meal of anything barbequed on the grill, specifically a ribeye steak medium rare with roasted potatoes and a nice salad. Ice cream for dessert.
Greg's been a great help since I've started (3 weeks ago as of 3/20/24). Glad to have great team players helping to move the ball forward.
