Obsidian Spotlight: Vladimir Reznikov


Vladimir Reznikov is from Moscow, former USSR. He has been living in the US since 1994. Currently, he lives in Rockville, MD (spent 20 previous years in the Boston area, MA). He has two wonderful daughters who graduated from Tufts, Cornell, and Harvard Universities in different years. He got into IT due to his love of computers and foreign languages, whose combination initially brought him to Software localization testing and later on to general software testing in multiple industrial fields. He has more than 24 years of quality engineering and software experience in different operating systems. He specializes in developing test plans, execution, and automation. Throughout his career, Vladimir has contributed to many industries, including the financial sector, housing statistical analysis, healthcare, IT and information systems, VR technologies, localization, and more. Vladimir enjoys Latin American music, guitar, travel, and spending time with his two daughters, who both work in consumer technology. He speaks fluent English, Spanish, Portuguese, and Russian. He has a PhD in Social Studies.



1. What is your role at Obsidian? How long have you been here?

My role in Obsidian is Sr.Software Tester. I have been in the Company since August 2015.


2. What has been one of your proudest moments while working with Obsidian?

My team and I built the whole testing suite from scratch for OBIM requests.


3. How do you define success?

In my case, it’s 0.00% of remaining software defects and no concerns from customers.


4. What is your favorite way to spend the weekend?

Listen to classical music or play guitar.


5. If you could have any superpower what would it be?

Stop all wars and conflicts between the countries.
